Terms of service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Goodd Apps ("shrthnd", "we", "us"). By accessing or using shrthnd you confirm you accept these Terms and our Privacy statement. If you use shrthnd for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.

2. The service

shrthnd reads a website you provide, infers its brand voice and generates draft social posts and articles for your review. The service, its features, limits and pricing may change over time as we improve it.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information.
• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure.
• Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scan websites you do not own or have permission to use as source material.
• Use shrthnd to create unlawful, infringing, deceptive, hateful or harmful content.
• Misrepresent AI-generated content in a way that breaks a platform's rules or the law.
• Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, scrape, overload or gain unauthorised access to the service.
• Resell or provide the service to third parties except as expressly permitted.

5. Your websites & content

You keep all rights to the website content you submit and to the drafts we generate for you. To operate the service, you grant us a limited licence to read your submitted website content and to process, store and display the generated content within your account. You are responsible for having the rights to the material you submit.

6. AI-generated content

• Drafts are generated by AI and provided for your review. You are responsible for reviewing, editing and approving every draft before you publish it. Nothing is published automatically.
• We do not warrant that generated content is accurate, original, non-infringing, compliant with any platform's policies, or that it will achieve any particular marketing or SEO result.
• AI can produce similar output for different users; we make no guarantee of uniqueness.
• You are responsible for ensuring your published content complies with applicable laws and the terms of the platforms you post to.

7. Plans & billing

• Free trial — when you sign up, your first website is free for 7 days (the full content plan, no card required).
• Paid — after the trial, and for any additional websites, the service costs $20 per month, per website (or the price shown at checkout).
• Paid subscriptions renew automatically each period until cancelled. You can cancel a website's subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
• Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Prices may change on reasonable notice; changes apply from your next billing period.
• Payments are handled by our payment processor; by subscribing you also accept their terms.

8. Our intellectual property

The shrthnd platform, software, branding and design are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any right to our trademarks or software except the right to use the service as intended.

9. Third-party services

shrthnd relies on third parties (including our AI provider and payment processor) and links to third-party platforms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them is subject to their own terms.

10. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, shrthnd and its suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold shrthnd harmless from claims, losses and expenses arising out of your use of the service, your content, or your breach of these Terms or the law.

13. Termination

You may stop using shrthnd and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the service or other users. On termination, your right to use the service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as IP, disclaimers, liability and indemnity) will survive.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and you submit to the jurisdiction of the South African courts, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "last updated" date and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continuing to use shrthnd after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
